My Mom has been reading books to me since I was born, and now I see that she was on to something by starting the habit early.

Need a little inspiration for your literary endeavors? Try these classics listed in the article:

Some of our favorites so far are “Love You Forever,” “Alexander and the Terrible Horrible No Good Very Bad Day,” “Are You My Mother?,” “Panda Bear Panda Bear What Do You See?,” “The Hungry Caterpillar” and “Goodnight Moon.”

Stay Warm on Halloween and Beyond! Looks like it will be a fairly brisk Halloween this year, so I may be scrapping my tutu and leotard in favor of something a little more warm and cozy. While not as girlie as my ballerina gear, these knit options will be fun, warm, and in style long after trick-or-treating is over. (via Babygadget)   - Tutu Couture, Fashion

Papoose Coat: I spent all summer hanging out in my baby carrier, which is just so much more liberating than being trapped in a stroller. I hope my Mom gets one of these sweet jackets so I can stay warm and still feel like I’m on an adventure. (via The Stir)     - Tutu Couture, Fashion

When you are a baby, heading in for check-ups and shots is a way of life. Let’s face it; sometimes Doc isn’t the most timely person in the world and we get bored very easily, which may or may not lead to tantrums. (Hey, you’d be crabby, too, if you knew shots were imminent.) Try these tactics at your next visit to keep happy and occupied.

  • Tap a tune. Grab a few tongue depressors and start tapping to the beat of your favorite song. Your makeshift drumsticks may even inspire you to create a new song.
  • 99 Luftballons. When filled with mama’s hot air, doctors’ rubber gloves make great balloons. Fill a few and start batting them around. Give a few fun high fives. Start a rousing rendition of “This Little Piggy”. The novelty of the balloons will help pass at least a few minutes.
